Sedation Dentistry

Oral sedation dentistry works well for patients who:

With oral sedation dentistry, you simply take the prescribed oral medication about an hour prior to treatment. Have a friend or family member drive you to and from your appointment, as you’ll be deeply relaxed. Once you’re comfortable, Dr. Clark can begin turning back the clock on your smile. During the procedure, you’ll be capable of responding to Dr. Clark’s questions, but you’ll have little or no memory of the procedure itself. After 24 hours, you’ll be able to resume activities as normal.
Nitrous
If your anxiety is minimal and oral sedation is not an option, nitrous can be another alternative. During the procedure, you will be given a mask type appliance that will cover your nose and administer oxygen and nitrous. You will feel relaxed during the procedure, but still coherent and aware of your surroundings. The effects will only last a few minutes once the mask is removed and you are able to drive to and from the appointment feeling totally normal.
Patient Comfort
There are many comforts available that can make going to the dentist relaxing and enjoyable. If watching a movie on an in-ceiling TV during your appointment is your preference you can choose from a huge selection of current and classic movies. Cable TV, XM radio, headphones, warm blankets and even a massage chair for in-office bleaching are also available. If you are in need of a computer, the internet is available for your convenience in the reception room. Like many spas, beautiful soothing water features will provide a relaxing atmosphere, is also used for your enjoyment. Children, during your appointment, may enjoy playing video games on our X box system in the reception room. Going to the dentist can actually be your only time during the day to relax!
